connAction: Foreword by ESR Chair of the Board of Directors Regina Beets-Tan

It is my pleasure to welcome you to a brand-new ESR event, connAction – Radiology Connecting Disciplines.

At the ECR last summer we learnt how collaboration with our clinical partners, scientists, industry partners, and policy makers, is essential to strengthen our value in patient management. Collaboration will not only improve our performance but also provide clearer roadmaps for more efficient care. connAction is about implementing what we have learnt and translating theory into real action. It is about establishing multidisciplinary practice as a standard in our field, enabling us to deliver the best care for the benefit of the patient.

This event has been designed to provide you with real examples of what can be achieved when radiologists work in synergy with their partners physicians. Together, we will find medical solutions that may not have been visible before. You will come away from connAction with clear recommendations for clinical practice and directions for the future.

As an entirely online and completely free event, connAction is accessible to everyone, no matter where they are and what discipline they belong to. The entire event will be streamed live on ESR Connect from a state-of-the-art studio in Vienna and 15 CME credits are available.

Over the course of a packed two-day programme, we will hold 15 scientific sessions on a range of diseases. An expert radiologist and expert professionals from disciplines outside of medical imaging will present in each session the new developments in the imaging and treatment of a specific disease, and share their unique perspectives. In a lively discussion they will review how we should develop and use our imaging to provide the best impact on treatment and its outcome. By bringing our developments in imaging out into the open, and by taking on feedback, we will fully understand how we should further optimise our technology and performance.

I hope you will join us for connAction – a multidisciplinary event like no other, and one that will help us all to strengthen the future of our profession together.
